2001 chevy blazer starting problems
I'm ready to scream! I have just spent $168 replacing my mass air flow connector because the computer read out said it was bad but it did not fix my starting problem. I have this problem when the weather starts to get colder. Sometimes it starts right up and some times it doesn't. It cranks and sounds like it is going to start but then doesn't. I had the fuel pump replaced about 5 years ago. I just had the manifold gasket replaced. I bought a new battery but that did not fix the problem. Does a blazer have a choke?
Thanks |

Re: 2001 chevy blazer starting problems
if it is cold, and below the dew point, you can almost bet on the distributor cap being bad. especially if it's a duralast from autozone. they usually last about a year. happened to me last winter.
funny you ask about the choke. when mine started screwing up, i would take the intake off the throttle body and choke it while someone turned the key. in reality, it was just a matter of cranking it enough to dry the cap out, and it wopuld start. new dist cap fixed it right away. no probs since.
