Nissan 300zx Convertible
I Had no idea that Nissan ever produced a 300zx convertible, until a mate of mine had a vintage Tamiya kit for sale, I was shocked that it was a convertible & that there was even a kit for it!!! Bring back the Tamiya of the 90s!!!!
Was a pretty decent kit, all new moldings, even the engine was the correct non turbo version! Tamiya did a good job, not just reusing the Targa T tops spruces. I painted mine Zero Ferrari Giallo Triplo Strato, came out looking amazing! Photos dont do this type of paint justice. I changed the wheels to Asohima SSR Professer SP3 wheels & painted the centres Semi gloss black. Came with the VIP angled tires, so was a bit of work to get the right stance & height. I wanted a showy look, so chromed parts of the engine & modified the exhaust for a better look. Overall pretty happy with the result. The Decals were pretty past it, the ones on the back are in multiple pieces as they cracked going into water & wouldn't move once on the body. so not too stoked about that. Cheers for Looking ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Couple of pics in direct Sunlight ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Ash

Re: Nissan 300zx Convertible
Wow, that does indeed look great. I have a Fujimi 300ZX convertible, but unfortunately the A-pillars are badly bent; hope I can massage it to something even close to yours!

Re: Nissan 300zx Convertible
Terrific color- I also didn't know Tamiya did a convertible. The 300ZX is a long time favorite of mine too.

Re: Nissan 300zx Convertible
Unusual model, I never heard of a 1:1 convertible either. Maybe it was offered only in Japan as so many Japanese cars.
