th350 tailshaft
One of the guys at work son has a 78 with a TH350 and a bad planetary gear. He's looking for a cheap replacement and I've got one but it came from a truck and has the long tailshaft. Would it mean a complete teardown or a simple parts swap to trade tailshafts and output shaft. Thanks

Re: th350 tailshaft
Since the output planetary is the last thing out and the first thing in, that would mean a complete teardown. On the up-side, that would be an excellent excuse to freshen up all the clutches and seals, lap the steels, and inspect all the hard parts. If the gearset shed some metal, it all needs to be cleaned up anyway.

Re: th350 tailshaft
That's kinda what I thought. I'll let Kevin decide what to do next. Thanks again
