Hi i am trying to program my keyless remote for my ford 2002 e-450 van. The numbers on the remote is FCC ID: GOH-3BFM2497, CAN: 1409 102 688. i have one remote that is programmed and one that is not. The keyless system is a ford installed unit.
Can anyone help. Thanks Mike |

This keyless system is a ford aftermarket system. It was installed by a ford dealership as i was told. Someone told me it was a code alarm system or something like that. Can anyone help me figure out how to program my remote with this system?
thanks |

The following is the procedure for programming a keyless remote on a 1997 Econoline. Ford changed very little during these model years so it may be of some help.
Turn the ignition key to run or accessory position. Short the two terminals on the program connector ( a two pin connector below the drivers side of the instrument panel at the base of the steering column). All the doors should lock and then unlock. Press any button on the keyless remote in turn All the doors should again lock then unlock. If locks do not respond press the button again up to three times max with the same door opener. If hte locks fail to respond, change the batteries in the remote and try again. Repeat to program additional controllers. up to four controllers max. Turn the ignition key to the off position. Remove short from program connector. Test remote for proper operation. Hope this helps. |

Since this came up in a google search, I'd like to post what worked for my 2002 Mercury Mountaineer, so no one has to pay the lame $7 following the link posted above.
I found this on a Google Forum: For the '99's, the Owner's manual says - 1) Turn key from OFF to ON eight times within 10 seconds ending in the ON position. 2) After doors lock then unlock, press any button on the remote being programmed. 3) The doors should lock/unlock to confirm programming. 4) Turn key to OFF and door locks should cycle one last time. You can program up to four remotes this way, but they must all be done at the same time (repeat step 2 for each). ---- http://groups.google.com/group/rec.a...&start=0&num=3 Hope that helps someone out there! |

Re: trying to program a ford keyless remote
I have a 2002 mustang and we have tried all the methods listed above to program remotes but the program will not accept. We turn the key 8 times, the locks lock and unlock, hold the remote button but nothing happens. We have tried several different remotes and new batteries. Any ideas? Thanks

Re: trying to program a ford keyless remote
I'm sure you tried this but rather than 'hold' the remote button try just pushing the button and releasing it immediately and see if the locks cycle.

Re: trying to program a ford keyless remote
Yes we did that too. We tried all different ways and nothing seems to work. Is there another way to program them? I just don't get why it wont work.
