Re: 70 celica gt

yup i agree... deep dish watanabe rims... sweet! one comment though... if you could tuck them rims under the wheel well or add some fender flares to keep them flush... im getting a boner thinking of that right now!

Re: 70 celica gt

i'll most likely leave the pipes as is till i have paint on it. as for flares, that's next on the list. i had to get some good ref pics to get them right.
and down boy down, get off my damn leg!

some more of the spoiler and the celica's shakotan/oni-kyan buddy.

Re: 70 celica gt

I think it would look really cool with bigger flares. I know that either fujimi or aoshima made kits of flares. It was like their muffler/wing and trek/roofrack packs. Good luck.

Re: 70 celica gt

thanks guys. flares: yes, im on it. color, i found a nice one. jade green non-metallic.
heres some more work i've done. only got one flare done, front springs might remake them, tooo short i think and last pic, im reducing the inside lip to make it not look so bulky. right-done, left-not done.

Re: 70 celica gt

so, i got a bit done about a week ago buut didn't have anytime to upload pics plus i got sick until tonight. so far this is where im at with the flares. i looked for flares, found the big racer flares, but not these. plus wheres the fun in not making them.
i love old school wheels so i slapped some champs on ones side just to see what i would look like.

on the watanabe side, is the some what finished look of the flares

champ side is what it started out as, bulky, ugly.

then tada, smoother, rounder, better looking, but still need some work.

Re: 70 celica gt

Looks clean Luis. A bit more filling and sanding and you'll be in there.

Re: 70 celica gt

been i while since i posted an update. got a small one now and well, i shot the first coats of paint, it looked good. but noticed the front need some more. well i shouldve waited till i felt better cause this happened.

other than that it looks good i think.

sooo, i just need to sand some dust and stuff off, smooth it out a bit where the paint chipped off and well beats the hell out of me about the cracks. hell knows i am not gonna fix it... ill be taking advice from other modelers and it will be part of weathering.

Re: 70 celica gt

hello, well i have a 4 day weekend coming up, so ill be a bit busy on this. like i have been so far. got it re-coated with paint, flocked the interior, made a new exhaust, foiled the trim and where the lights will be going. well here are the pics.

here i color sanded, rubbed and waxed. not perfect, but it's my first time trying it out.

new exhaust

interior flocking, now this is the best i have done. being that the last time i flocked an iterior was more than 10 years ago!

some brake work for the front, not done yet.

last thing i did, BMFed the trim
