did this place die?
so its been a whille since i have been on automotiveforums and it looks like this is a dead or dieing site. whats going on? i remember when thois was a booming place, not so much anymore though

Uh.... no.
Anyone who uses the "See Latest Posts" feature can see there are literally hundreds of new posts and threads placed at AF every day, all day, especially weekdays. Almost all the posts are of a technical nature, which is the key function of the site. For example, this site logged 100 new threads and posts within the past 6 hours alone. That does not seem like a dying site to me. Relatively few people come here to shoot the off-topic bull. That's fine,because technical discussions are just fine by me  |

I'm agree with magicrat.. This is still active as is. Aside from the new post from different thread, a lot of newbies are entering and joining this site. And i must say i was one of those newbies. I joined AF last 3 weeks ago. I find it interesting, a lot of new trends and innovations, tips and insight as well that's why I'm enjoying my stay here. Anyway see you around the forum.

How do numbers today compare to back in early 2006? You said there is still quite a bit of activity going on but from what I remember there used to be far more active moderators and members than there is now. I know in the racing section in the evening you could find a new post about every 3 or 4 minutes. It often doesn't get a post for a few days now...same with the 3000GT section. I can't confirm numbers though of course as I don't have the privileged access to info that moderators have. Would be interesting to see though.
