LIM gaskets

I am about to order LIM gaskets for my 1997 and 1999 Lesabres. I noticed from GMPartsDirect that the part number 89017816 is for supercharged. When I searched "manifold gasket" I found 2 listings, one for supercharged and one for non-supercharged. I cannot get the part number from their website for the non-supercharged engine. What is the difference between these two gaskets?

Also, does anyone know where I could get the McKanica Read High Temp RTV sealant in BC?

Re: LIM gaskets

Are you sure the Difference is the SC vs NA?

I know some blocks have inserts for rubber alignment pins in the LIM gasket end seals. Some do not. I think 97's dont have the insterts and 98+ do, so that may be why the part numbers are different?

Also are you sure you want to go with the GM brand? If I were going to do it over again, I'd probably go with fel-pro's.

Re: LIM gaskets

Thanks for your reply.

So far most people I've talked to say the GM aluminum gaskets are a permanent repair for the LIM. I haven't been convinced that Felpro would outlast the GM aluminum gaskets.

I know what you are referring to with pinned vs non-pinned. GMPartsDirect does not post pictures of the gaskets, but their site clearly states that one is for supercharged motors, the other one is for naturally aspirated. One answer I got from another site is that the naturally aspirated is the plastic gasket, and the supercharged is the aluminum, and to go with the aluminum (for supercharged engines) in my NA 3800.

I guess as long as I know for certain that part number 89017816 will definitely work on NA motors, I'll get it.
