Remote won't open PSD

OK...I'm new to the forum, and this is my first post...I've recently purchased a used 1999 Oldsmobile Silhouette which has a power sliding door on the passenger side.

The switch in the overhead console & column work fine, as does simply using the door handle, with no unusual noise...Unfortunately, the door will not open using the button on the remote transmitter/key fob...It seems the signal is being sent because I can hear the relay by the BCM switching.

I've tried the diagnostics and reinitialization procedure I found on this forum...No error codes were reported, and no change in the behavior.

I'm begging someone to please help me solve this mystery.

Thanks for taking the time to help!!!

I can't think of anything that would cause what you describe. But I'm not aware of the relay sound you mention from the BCM. I have a 99 silo and I've not heard that. Can you describe it in more detail? Where is the sound located? Is it a 1 for 1 response to you pushing the door button?

Re: Remote won't open PSD

X,

There is the off-chance the door locking/unlocking mode is set wrong. Check your owners manual for the procedures. There is 4 to choose from.
