Hey I dont know if anyone here remembers me anymore, i used to be pretty active here a while ago. I was searching for some car help on google and one of the links pointed me back to automotive forums.

I used to have the 2001 Cavalier Z24 Supercharged, then I went to a Cobalt SS/SC, had a lot of fun with that, but i got rid of it this spring. I didnt get a new car for fun though, so ive been driving around in my 99 Jeep Cherokee, but that got boring so about a month ago I got this.



New 2009 Ninja 650 R, its a blast to ride and when it comes to speed and the thrill of hitting the open road ive found that nothing beats a bike. Its not a supersport, just a sport, but its pleanty fast for me. Runs the 1/4 mile in high 11's at 108-110MPH. Its stock right now, but as soon as i get some more money its getting modded, I cant leave anything stock...

Nice bike man! They are fun. My friend has a 636 with exhaust and big rear sprocket (for stunting) and it moves out pretty good!

Welcome back man. Shit, everyone out there getting bikes, I keep wanting to get one. The thing is, right when I convince myself to get one, and I'm on my way to one of the dealerships, I always see some horrific bike wreck, and I'm like...eh fuck that, I'll keep the car.

Thanks, yeah its definitely a bit scary riding a bike. But you quickly learn that the majority of the nasty accidents that happens are caused by those dumb idiot riders who you see flying down the expressway at 100+ mph in tshirt, shorts and tennis shoes. But still doesnt mean you wont get into an accident, for most people its not a question of if but a question of when. I gear up pretty good when i go riding, helmet, jacket with pads on the shoulders, elbows, and back, leather gloves, and kevlar blue jeans. Still need to get some boots though. I sweat like a pig when its 90+F outside, but id rather sweat then get seriously much worse injured.

Having been down before... it's never fun. My gear protected me from getting more hurt than I did. And I was just wearing a basic jacket, helmet, jeans and shoes.

My last street bike I had whenever I rode I always had about $1200 worth of gear on, Alpinestar jacket, (new, replaced the one I crashed in) Shoei helmet, Sidi boots, gloves.

On track days, I think I had on roughly $2000 worth of protective gear, $1000 of that was a new Alpinestars one piece leather suit. Talk about making you feel like Superman though... total super hero when wearing that. I wore it once out on the street and felt rediculous... people were like... looking at me. I must of looked 'hardcore'... lol and I was just out for a leisurely cruise.

When I go riding in the desert on the dirt bikes, I wear full gear as well... close to $800 in gear just to keep me safe.


It pays to be safe, sure you may never go down and spent a small fortune on all that crap. But the day you do go down and it all comes together to help you walk away... totally worth it.

ha a once piece leather suit in the streets, yeah im sure that would get you plenty of looks. It is pretty cool though all the attention you get riding a motorcycle, everyone watches you drive by, you walk into a bar or something and everyone notices you. And girls love bikes and guys who ride them, idk how many car loads of girls have drove past me honking and screaming.

I was so tempted to buy a Honda not too long ago. For the price it was a complete steal. Guy wanted to get rid of it because his son was KIA. I felt bad, but as I was nearly gauranteeing myself that I was gonna get it, the wifey kicked me and knocked some sense into me. So I never did lol.

Congrats on the purchase. I think that may be my death if I ever do get one. I'll stick to cars for now

Once I did track days on the street bike, it ruined riding on the street for me. Just the freedom to ride as fast as you can and no hassles from the man, on a track thats 40ft wide rather than a 10ft lane... on pavement thats typically even and groomed... everybody is going the same direction... if you crash, you're fully protected and there's an Whambulance waiting for you.

Street riding got boring, and just plain scary to be honest afterwards. I stopped riding street.

I soon sold the bike to my brother-in-law cause I just never had the time to get back out to track days.


I still go out and ride dirt though, I like that... it's a good workout. I've got a 2003 Yamaha YZ250 2 stroke... thing is wicked fast and I've got a 2010 Kawasaki KLX140L... it's not a fast bike, but it's so damn fun to ride. It's my favorite. I've got a pipe on the Kawi so it makes a little noise... basically you can ride full throttle everywhere and feel like you're hauling ass. haha... the suspension from the factory is nice and soft... it's an all day bike for the dirt.

We lay out tracks in the desert near or around our camps and we do 'motos' just doing hot laps. I'll go do 30-40laps without realizing it, bike is so easy to ride.

yeah dirt bikes are what started it all for me, my father was really big into riding so as soon as i was old enough to walk he had a dirt bike for me. My first motorcycle actually had training wheels on it. I still ride dirt every once in a while, we have a lake house and a couple of Yamaha TWA 220s, they are a trail/onroad bike. I mostly just ride around on some trails there, I really want to take a trip to go riding because Michigan has some amazing trails for riding.

TVS should be getting purchased this fall or winter

If I ever got a street bike I think I would kill myself on it. I am crazy enough on my KLX 300r and thats just playin around in dirt. I have to make it a habit to wear my gear all the time though. I always do when I ride hard, but up at the cabin sometimes I just hop on with a helmet and gloves and go

I like the TVS blowers, good price and good gains, 300WHP wont be a problem for you, I would suggest getting a dual pass heat exchanger, while the TVS is more efficient, intake temps still get pretty high once you break the 300WHP. 300WHP on the TVS should have similar intake temps to 260-270WHP on the M62. My buddy has a TVS with some after market heat exchanger, Option B, after market coolant pump and he still hits 130-145F intake temps, i wanna say hes running a 3.1 pulley, but I could be wrong. I know hes right at 300WHP though. Honestly the best bang for the buck mods I ever did was a dual pass with a coolant resevoir. With my 2.7 and ported intake manifold WOT would hit 120-130F. But the butt dyno could really feel the difference at the top of the gears when intake temps would be at there highest.

You can pick up dual pass plates on css.net for like 60-70 bucks now, and its pretty easy to fab up a coolant reservoir.

pretty good, busy with work lately. I still do a lot with the Delta platform cars, i actually own a 2004 Ion Redline with a blown motor that a buddy and myself are trying to flip. Im still in my local car club South East Ecotec Enthusiast.

I have a dual pass sitting next to me waiting to go in lol. And on E85 right now it should be right around 290-300whp. Ebristol (if you remember him) just hit 303whp on my setup with a 2.6 instead of a 2.7. We have very similair tunes as well. On the TVS I would run a 2.9" pulley because thats about as you low as you can go on the 80# injectors on e85 without getting a return style fuel system. Most guys with that setup are hitting about 330-340whp. ah E85 is teh goodness
