A/c does not work receivng code1264

I have a 05 Lincoln ls v6 and the a/c just stopped working. i ran a datc test and received the code 1264 is their any one out there that can help me repair this problem i believe it is a actuator misfire. any help would be great i have taken my car to several places and they don't know what to do and the dealer will charge me 150dls just to look at it. if i could get some directions on how to get it fix it would be great i am not an experienced mechanic but i would like to try and fix it myself do to lack of money.

Re: A/c does not work receivng code1264

A/C stopped working is not enough of a good description.

Is the problem that the air flow comes out of the wrong place? If so, then the floor door servo might well be the issue. If not (the air comes out where you set it to), then that servo is not a problem.

Does the AC not cool the air (air comes out warm, but not hot)? If so, you have a problem with the refrigeration system. Maybe you have a leak and the R-134 is too low for the compressor to work. Maybe your compressor or clutch is bad, and so on...

Does the air come out heated (very hot)? If so, your DCCV has probably failed (common problem) and needs to be replaced. DCCV's do not always set a code when they fail.

Re: A/c does not work receivng code1264

I have already replaced the dccv and still no cold air. the air comes out hot. i have also replaced the expansion valve and the drier. could it be the compressor. i have had the refrigerant checked and their is no leak. the code 1264 means floor door actuator does my 05 have a floor door actuator. i checked where it is supposed to be but their isn't anything their.

Yes, your 05 does have a floor door actuator. But, it's not causing the no cool problem. When you override and select floor, does the air come out of the floor registers, and only them?

I need to know if it's coming out heated or just not cooled. Get a thermometer and measure the outlet air temperature and then post it here.
