Dad's Day Out @ The Top Gear Test Track, Dunsfold, UK

I thought some of our southern UK members might be interested in this. Its happening this Sunday the 16th May.

Dad's Day Out is being held again at the top gear test track at Dunsfold Park. The main attraction is the chance to be taken out for a couple of passenger laps in various supercars including:

Ferrari 308/GT4/328/348/355/360/430/Challenge Stradale/512BB/Scuderia/575/599/612

Lamborgini Gallardo/Murcie/Diablo

Astons/Cobra/Ford GT/Viper/Detomaso/Westfield/RUF.

For a little extra you can go in one of the 'Blue Ribband' cars which include: Enzo/F40/F50/Carrera GT/Atom/X-Bow/Tesla/Zonda

The purpose of the event is to raise money for The Childrens Trust and raised over £30k last year with double that expected this year. The website for purchasing tickets and rides is here http://www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk/...&month=&page=2

Other attractions include:

Kids Zone marquee with Roary the Racing Car & Big Chris, who will appear at: 10.30-11.10am, 11.40-12.20pm, 1.20-2.00pm, 2.30-3.10pm and 3.40-4.20pm for a meet & greet and photos, a Roary merchandise stall plus a Crafts Zone where children can decorate their own race car to take home, face painting, balloon modeling and a Slot Car competition provided by Slot 32

Helicopter rides from Elite Helicopters- £35 per adult & £30 per child- these can be booked at the event

Live music from The Lettuceheads, The Deccas & Sarah Blackwood throughout the day

Routemaster bus rides to transport you in style from the carpark to the event arena

Fire Engine rides for children, these can be booked at the event

Land Train and Fairground rides including a giant bouncy castle and soft play area plus Cub Carts for 3-9 year olds

Simulator with following experiences: Red Arrows, Ski, Car Rally, Astro Canyon, Glacier Run, Pepsi Max Roller coaster & many more

Models Zone with model aeroplanes and helicopters from Addlestone Models, model boats from Springbok Mariners Model Boat Club and model car stalls

Automobile-themed catering bars from DW Mobile Catering Bars

Static display of over 500 classic & sports cars including a Jordan F1 Racing Car plus a number of aircraft including Sea Harrier, Sea Hawk & Air Support Unit

It's a darn good circuit for 24 hour longboarding too!

Hopefully get the chance to do next years. The Dunsfold circuit folk are the best.

Sounds like a total blast.

Next to F1 qualifying, Top Gear is the best car show on TV. I've heard Adam Carolla is going to host an American Top Gear. Sounds too good to be true.

(I know: some people don't like Adam Carolla. But he's a serious car nut and vintage racer.)

this is one of those times when I wish I wasnt living in the US

whoever goes it sounds like fun. Ihave never driven an F40, but standing next to one gives me chills, my favorite care of all time, besides the LM version.
