caprice rear end swap

Hi I've got a 92 caprice with the 350 and the 8.5" 10 bolt rear end. It has basically been nuked and is time for for swap. I'm curious as to wether or not the rear end out of a 94 roadmaster would fit and if not which ones would. I know the sub models based their year from 91-93 and 93-96 but I'm not sure how interchangable the rears are. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: caprice rear end swap

I'll put it this way: I have a 1988 and it has the rear axle out of a '94 9C1 (disc brakes). It was plug-and-play, direct swap. The only change necessary on my end was the parking brake setup which is a little different with the discs.

Re: caprice rear end swap

The Roady rear should be a perfect fit. It could be 2.56 or 2.93 ratio so you might have an incorrect speedo afterwards.
