Relay Location
2000 Beetle with typical A/C compresser troubles of not staying on when levels check out. I found the fuse panel left side of dash , fuses on top of battery but I am not sure where the relay panel is Haynes says under left side of dash under sound deadner but I read on here that it is under the battery. It is my dughters car and not at my house so I want to get as much info as I can. Thanks

Re: Relay Location
The most common reason for this problem in the 99-2000 is the 30 amp fuse on top of the battery. The fuse is not blown but the contacts are so small they begin to arch and because of higher resistance they supply less then the 12 volts needed to wake up the coolant fan control module that controls compressor power. I ran a 30 amp fusable link around that fuse on top of the battery and it fixed this problem for $3 .good luck
