96 xj powerwindow/locks problem

my door locks and windows suddenly just went haywire when you try to open the windows it's the locks that start to work i cant get the widows to go up or down, but when i try the lock buttons only the lock button will work and not the unlock button but if i use the window up/down switch i can get the locks to work now before it all went to crap the passanger rear window was halfway down and i cant get it to go back up i have replaced the driver side master control switch and i still have the issue with the locks and windows,, side-note it seems that when it gets really hot outside only the driver side window will work no locks just the window HELP!! shoukd i take it to the dealer?

Re: 96 xj powerwindow/locks problem

ok so i went ahead and removed the wiring harness from the master switch then put it back on now the windows still wont go up or down but at least the locks only work when you use the lock buttton, so is there ANY way to hot wire the passenger rear window so that i can at least close it

Re: 96 xj powerwindow/locks problem

You should check where the driver door harness passes into the kick panel. Due the year of flexing, wires often break/short in there.

Pull the window switch panel off and disconnect the switch. There should be a Violet (purple) and brown wire on the connector. These go to the window motor. Gnd one and put 12v to the other. Don't know which. If you get the polarity wrong, the window will just open more.
