Vacuum Hose Diagram

Hello!

My 1999 Buick Lesabre, 3.8l v-6, 189,000 mile car has a check engine light on.

I had some major engine work done (hydrolocked engine required new gaskets, seals, plugs, oil change, coolant, etc.) and ever since have had the check engine light on. My feeling is that the shop crossed some vacuum hoses or failed to hook them all up because I have codes:

PO440 Vacuum leak at engine
PO300 Cylinder misfire (could be a vacuum leak)
PO113 Intake air temp (maybe connector is unplugged?)

I am going to pop the hood and start rummaging around tonight but I was wondering if anyone had a vacuum hose diagram for the engine specified. This would allow me to back check the connections and take care of this issue.

As always, any advice or ideas you have concerning the above issues would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you, Jack

Re: Vacuum Hose Diagram

Po440 is an EVAP code. There should be a purge solenoid under the engine cover mounted to the fuel rail on the front side of the engine. I've seen a few of those hoses crossed after plenum replacements.

The intake air temp sensor is the sensor mounted in the snorkel between the throttle body and the air box.

Re: Vacuum Hose Diagram

As it turns out the person who worked on my UIM rebuild after my hydrolock issue was a little lax in paying attention to reconnecting everything. There was a vacuum hose disconnected, the intake air temperature sensor was not plugged in and two of the electrical connectors to the fuel injectors was not seated all the way. I took care of reconnecting everything and the check engine light went out!

I guess the biggest problem I have with this is that when I picked the car up the check engine light was on and I asked the Firestone people what the issue was. They said they would have to charge me to check the codes. Don't you think that if you were doing major engine work and when you were done the check engine light comes on that you would take a peek? They didn't feel that way.
