Wut was ur scarriest nite?
I'm new to the world of street racing a custom cars, and tonite goes out as the scariest of them all so far....
David (blue primer '98 s-10 - lowered) got stuck on a speedbump b/t Krystal's and Turner's Furnitue, Big John and Donnie get on the back a jump up and down to try a help to un-stick 'em, he breaks loose and John and Donnie flew off the back...I though Donnie craked a rim...scared the hell outta me...words flew but everything ended up ok. Wut was your scarriest nite?

And yeah, potholes do suck, I was on the highway yesterday, and I see this HUGE hole in front of me, I barely missed it. It was 3-4 inches deep, and the size of a 18wheeler wheel. I have no idea how I got there, but I'm sure many poor bastards must've drove into it and lost a wheel or two.. |

It would have to be the night that I cracked the head on my 89 GTC. I was doing a delivery for work in SLC. I got to my exit and once I got off the car died at the stop light. I couldn't figure out why. I got it started again and drove to the nearest gas station. When I got there white smoke was coming out from under the hood. Now I keep a good eye on my gauges and the water temp was normal on the freeway. When I looked in the car you couldn't see the needle because it was so far p in the gauge. I let it sit for about an hour and popped the radiator cap, still pretty hot it dumped its coolant everywhere. I bought some more and refilled it about an hour later when it had cooled. I filled up with gas let the car run for 20 min to make sure it was fine, but the gauge was still maxed. There were no signs of white smoke anywhere so I drove home. It drove fine all the way home, no problems. It still stunk of burning coolant, though there was still no white smoke. The next morning when I went to start the car it refused to turn over. After massing with it for about twenty min I got it to start. That is when white smoke started coming out of the downpipe, then it began bellowing from the exhaust. Right then I knew the block, head, or both had cracked and coolant was getting in the combustion chambers. I was so pissed off. I am guessing that the head gasket blew letting exhaust gasses in heating the block. It had 140,000 miles on it, so that is pretty good for a bi-metal engine with a turbo. As for the water temp, I think that an air bubble had formed around the sensor and it was reading the air temp in that bubble and not the water temp. That is why in my next car it will have a pyro sensor that tells you the engines temp, not the water. The head was cracked, seems logical since aluminum expands faster that iron.
Kinda’ long, but oh well. . . . . |

another scary nite was when i took a ride in my bro's volvo for a few minutes alone... i was boostin like all motha! right when i pulled in my driveway, i went inside and told my bro it was a completely awesome car and def has speed. i went back out a few min later and there was an oil trail from his car all the way down the driveway and halfway down our street.
i thouhgt i blew a head gasket or something... it was night so i didnt see the oil come out when i pulled in, only when i went back out again. had to clean up all the oil, try to convince my bro it wasnt my fault, then had to tow it in the morning. turned out to be an oil tube that busted to the intercooler. full price: $100 with service and oil change. whew..... it could have been normal wear and tear of the car.... :licker:

too many to count.....if I had to pick one it would be the night we got air in my friend's volvo 850 turbo going about 105 mph.....when the car hit, it double-hopped because of the stiff suspension, it was hella scary.
