Red face Crazy fuel pump relay

Hi Guys--- ok this is weird, in order to start my Chevy Blazer you need to open the glove box and wiggle the fuel pump relay. Though the fuel pump was going so changed it, however you still need to hold the relay, sometimes when your driving down the road the car will die and you need to throw it in Nuetral and hold the relay to start it . Put a new relay in , no change. You cant drive the blazer alone because you need to have someone hold the realy . Any ideas? I am a girl so please try not to get to technical thanks

Re: Crazy fuel pump relay

Sometimes a relay can overheat the spring contacts in the socket. If you can remove the socket assembly you may be able to bend the contact back into position with a small screwdriver (from the backside of the socket)

A temporary fix that may work would be to slightly bend the prongs on the relay outward.
