Fujimi Fiat 500 (Cha Cha Azure, 1/24)

Hi all

Just put the finishing touches on this one. Decent kit but it did fight me during the final assembly - the clear parts wouldn't fit. The kit is engineered too well, so to speak, and while the main glass part does fit snug and well when there's no paint on the model (tested that on another kit after running into problems with this one), as soon as there's even a hint of paint on the body - you're forcing it. And since I usually do not touch glass till the last possible moment it was a very unpleasant surprise that mean the rear window has stress cracks in it and there's a small area of paint lifted at the back. Another thing, and it's a known problem, is the track, especially at the front. Mine is stock at the back and at the front I did use the brake discs but I trimmed the attaching point of the front wheels quite a bit to make them fit more inboard. Oh, and the colour (Cha Cha Azure) is hard to photograph. It's baby blue and not whatever it looks to you on the monitor. The paint and clear are PPG. And now for some cuteness (favourable angles only )

Together with the GSI 500

Interior (simple as they come in my case)

Thanks for looking,
Alex

Very nice. Thanks for tip regarding the windows. I want to do one of the Abarth versions, and don't want to break glass!

Thank you very much for the kind words, gentlemen.

Postie, the Abarth uses the same parts for the body and the glass so it has the exact same problem. It's relatively easily manageable if you catch it in advance (i.e. before the body is painted so that you can sand some material off the rear window opening). Good luck with your build.

Hope you don't mind, but I've managed to take a couple of photos that convey the colour better. As you can see it is that cute blue colour

Thanks again,
Alex
