CPFI to MPFI Conversion

Any pointers? I bought the upgraded injector assemply because I am getting fed up with the missfires all over the place at idle. Plan to do the swap tomorrow.

Re: CPFI to MPFI Conversion

Keep track of where each bolt goes. You may need a small screwdriver or nail to remove the old poppets if the plastic retainers release breaks, I had 50% break. You may have to put a shim under the bracket for the MPFI assembly if it doesnt set high enough on the intake manifold. The fuel line fittings at the back of the motor are a PITA, good luck

Re: CPFI to MPFI Conversion

Done! Truck runs as good as new. I didn't need any shims. The unit I bought came with a new bracket which I used. Everything lined up just fine.

Re: CPFI to MPFI Conversion

It didn't make a lot of difference with my truck, I needed a new FPR and when I saw the price of the MPFI it was a no-brainer at the time. I think it was six years ago

Ebay..

That's where I got mine...$235.

They have 3 diff rent manufactures name on them. AC Dleco, Delphi and Borg Warner. All priced higher to lower the way I listed them, yet all the same.

Good luck.

Re: CPFI to MPFI Conversion

Oreilley, borg warner. $325.00. Not as nice as ebay price, but it has a 1yr warrenty. From what I read, one company makes this part for the 3 different companies, so find the best price.

when I researched it, there were post where they compared them and everything, including mold marks were the same. The only differences were the color of the injector plastic.

Beats the $608 dealer price. Bought and had installed for less.

Re: CPFI to MPFI Conversion

HAHA, I think I read that same article. Which is why I wasn't willing to buy the dealer one either.

Funny thing was that I read the install instructions for the Delco one on the internet before I bought one. It was in a PDF format. When I bought the b/w one from oreilleys, it came with a printout of the exact same PDF I read off the net. Exact same..... Hmmm, imagine that.
