Post What's up with Wal-Mart?

Wal-Mart bans racy magazines from its stores. The ones i heard mentioned were Maxim, FHM, and Stuff. As long as they don't pull the mags i look at there then thats fine, but i still think its stupid. I kinda think Wal-Marts still living in the past. I mean they dont even sell Explicit Advisory cds. Now that they've pulled those mags, whats next the car magazines with women in bikinis? Whats yalls take on this?

i think that cause its a family owned business they have a right to keep it clean. Since day one they've been family oriented and i guess they want to keep it that way in their merchandise. I just hope they don't take it too far.

Its their choice if they want to carry the magazine line or not. Anyone who'd like a subscription can hop online and sign up. It just stops some people from getting a free read off them.

i thought it was stupid that they only sold edited cds..but now there is some law (in NY neway) and they have to have proff that ur over 18 to buy them.

but magazines are different. Some of them come wrapped in plastic so you cant read them. but taking them off shelves is kinda drastic. i mean that IS what the back row of magazines is for. out of reach of children. but they have always tried to be family oriented..and its made them like 10 billion dollars or whatever

If I want the magazine I know 20 other stores in town I can get it at. I’m glad there is someone in this world that still some shred of dignity and will not sell sex just because it makes money.

Walmart has been a public company since 1970. It's just that it thinks its stockholders will agree with their policy.

I never looked at it like that. Good point.
