1994 318 IS Trunk Lock
My trunk does not open. The key does not turn in the mechanism. Tried WD40, no luck. I have access to trunk through back seats, does anyone know how to open from inside ?

Re: 1994 318 IS Trunk Lock
Did it EVER work? Sounds like you have the wrong key. I have a 1994 318IS myself. There is a valet key that comes with the car ( I bought my car new in 1994). That key won't work in the trunk.

The key worked before. I think the mechanism broke. Does anyone know how to open it from the inside and I will replace it myself

Re: 1994 318 IS Trunk Lock
One more thing... Does the key turn with ANY resistance and do all the dead bolts work when you operate the key in the drivers door? Could be that the latch is in fact working and the deadbolts have failed to work keeping the trunk unable to open? Check all of your fuses.

Re: 1994 318 IS Trunk Lock
I would drill the lock or call "unlock specialists". Once I have drilled ignition in 2000 ford transit and it starts on screw driver now lol.

Re: 1994 318 IS Trunk Lock
Pull the carpet thing off the inside of your trunk and you'll see a metal rod going from the lock on top to the bottom.Pull it to the side and it should snap out of the main lock. Then you pull the rod up and you truck should open.No drilling needed!!
