No, they are AWD, so unless the torque splitter is set way forward, it wouldn't burn out only the front wheels.

Explain the difference in your opinion.
The are full-time four wheel drive....hence AWD....

Looks like a nice clean build. Burnout looks pretty cool. Would look better with a touch of rear wheel smoke as well, though you'd need a bloody high power EVO to do a burnout in a straight line!!!!

btw 4WD doesn't have a centre diff meaning it can only run in 4WD on loose surfaces (eg early Landcruisers, Explorers etc). AWD has a centre diff (eg EVOs, Subarus, Range Rovers). The centre diff prevents wind up on high traction surfaces by allowing the front and rear diffs to spin at different rates.

Ok,
The new subaru was said to be AWD...
Being puzzled to why it was called AWD and not 4WD, I went around asking and the most stupidest answer I got was

For AWD, Even the spare tire in the boot moves...

So I went around and decided it was best to ask the Subaru dealers...
Here's the catch

4WD, power to rotate the wheels are distributed evenly to all four wheels... Example, if there was 40, each recieve 10...

AWD, power to be distributed to all four wheels vary, according to conditions, thats y if you notice, only Subaru calls their car AWD for those newer models.

Others call their models 4WD...

Hope it helps....
I could be wrong though...

You're wrong again.....others don't all call it 4WD......for example, Toyota call it All-Trac and VW call it 4-Motion and Audi call it Quattro. When you look into it though, it is all AWD.

In the Lancers, the power distribution is variable, as it is in the Audi and Toyota All-Trac's. They use a torque splitter to vary the power to the wheels so that the wheels with the most traction gets the greater amount of power hence maintaining traction and control.
I think you have been a victim of the Subaru marketing monster

Also, I think Subaru is the only one who uses it so greatly as part of their advertising drive.
