Plug wire holder

How do I get the plug wire holder strip loose on the front of the motor? This plastic piece fits against the front of the valve cover.

I can't get the new wire into the holder for plug #5. I need to move the black plastic loom so I can feed the #5 wire through.

Re: Plug wire holder

Pull up on it. The two tabs that go over the valve cover can be used as leverage if you carefully use a screwdriver to pry up on them.

Re: Plug wire holder

Take them off and through them in the garbage. Use some wire separators instead. It is much easier and they will eliminate the possibility of the plastic holders catching on fire, if & when the valve cover leaks.

Re: Plug wire holder

Aha. The fact it comes upward helped. I put my fingers underneath and lifted up sharply. It has two slides that hold it to the motor and then it snaps into place when fully down.

Remove and trash for fire hazard--Noted. I'll watch for oil leaks on it.
