No need to respond I pulled out the cassette with a pair of pliers, the cassette is out and the player is shot. At least the radio is working. Oh well another thing that is not working on this great 99 Intrigue

A great excuse to put in a better head unit. Youll lose your steering wheel controls, but youll get better sound from even an inexpensive one.

He wouldn't have to lose his steering wheel controls, just needs an adapter. Or just get another factory head unit off ebay for $30 bucks...

Ah yeah, thats true youll need a certain adapter and if Im not mistaken you have to purchase a head unit that has a remote control for it to work...but I could be wrong.
Or if you still like your cassettes the factory option might be better.
