OEM vs. Aftermarket Clear Corners
are the OEM clear corners worth the extra money over the aftermarket ones? what's the difference between the two? also, where's a good place online to buy them?
Thanks

Basically the quality... some of the cheaper lenses tend to leak water into them....

I've looked at various places on-line and have found that the dealership prices are comparable if not better. The dealers try to make money off of the installation. They will try to charge 2-3 hours for installation at $50-$60 an hour. Does anyone know how easy/difficult it is to install the clear lights? I took a look the other day and it didn't appear too difficult although I didn't disassemble the lights from the car completely. Do the lights come with installation instructions?

Mine didn't come with instructions... but it took me about 30 minutes to install front and side clears... they pop right out... just push a lever on the inside and the slide right out.... 123 easy.

I first bought aftermarket. The rear ones were OK, but the front ones were cheap POSs! I got those from a different company than the rear ones, for MUCH cheaper than usual (the rear ones I paid pretty much the normal price for clears). Badly finished, and didn't install correctly - I had to modify them to get them in, and even then one owouldn't stay in no matter what I did. I finally just went and bought OEM - went right in, look nicer, and come with the bulb housing. The aftermarket ones don't. Plus with my CCA discount only paid like $80
(edit: BTW that's only for the front ones) |
