87 Chevy S10 Blazer emission issues

87 Chevy Blazer S10 v6 2.4 engine; 240k miles - not passing H2 part of emissions reading at 520 and limit is 220 or something. Nonetheless replaced sparkplugs and wire tubes, distributor cap, rotor button, along with an oil change and filter a week prior. Yesterday mechanic changed PVC Valve and unclogged intake, still high HC reading. I did call him back and let him know to check to see if the engine is burning oil and whether this could be the cause of High HC since I add oil approximately every 2-3 weeks and change every 3000 miles. No indications whatsoever of an oil leak. What do you all suggest doing?

Re: 87 Chevy S10 Blazer emission issues

High oil consumption can cause your issue. BTW it is a 2.8. So can a rich running engine.
