code p0740 help

my 98 blazer with 130k on it is showing a p0740 code. the trans has not been serviced in a long long time. i made sure all the electrical connections were clean and intact..and they were fine.
my transmission shifts through all 4 gears..seems to ocassionally get a little jumpy on the highway
could this be the solenoid? i guess thats my next step is a filter and fluid change and a new solenoid.

i guess fluid and filter first, clear the code, then go down the list of possibilities

Re: code p0740 help

yea i figure ill replace the solenoid while i have the trans pan off..no sense dropping the pan twice if i dont have to..plus the solenoid isnt all that expensive. i hope this does it. i wonder if this is causing my excessive road noise on the highway...maybe im not actually feeling it shift into overdrive...hmmm
