Traction Control Light and Hard Shifts
My '06 G6 has some issues... the tranction control light randomly comes on (that it is off) and when my car automatically shifts when driving down the road, it shifts really hard and has a jerking feel to it, and it even does it when that is on and i pull out of park position. Any ideas? anyone else have this problem? Some people have said bad sensors and others have said transmission. let me know guys!! thank YOU!

Re: Traction Control Light and Hard Shifts
Have you gotten any check engine lights? For hard shifts with the traction control light on, usually is a sensor probably a wheel speed sensor or one transmission sensors. If you dont have a check light on I would still get it scanned for codes, since some codes do not always trigger a check engine light.

Re: Traction Control Light and Hard Shifts
It can be any of the sensors, more than likely wont need the transmission replaced. Not sure on yours but most of the newer GM vehicles, the traction light and/or stabilitrac light will come on anytime there is a MIL or a code in the ECM. Take it to a local shop to get it diagnosed. They can look at the EBCM and tell you why the traction light is on and that will possibly fix the transmission problem too.
