2000 Buick Regal Help needed

I have a 2000 Buick Regal Ls. When I try to start the car the light on the dash go crazy flashing and the gauges also do the same. The car will sometimes start and then it won't start. It's in the shop and they can't seem to know what might be causing this.

Would anyone know what might be causing this maybe an ignition switch or some electrical problem other than the ignition? I would hate to have the shop replace the ignition and it not be the problem for $300.00.

Any suggestions?

it's either the ignition switch or a BCM issue. Have you had any other electrical gremlins preceeding this problem such as key sticking in ignition, blower motor dropping speeds, DIC flashing on/off, etc...? If so, then the ignition switch is the most probable cause.

Re: 2000 Buick Regal Help needed

The shop called back and I guess it is the ignition switch. Should be fixed in a day or so. She told me it would be around $300 to fix. A bit high I think for the ign. sw.

thanks for the reply
