Electric seat problems

Tonight I was getting into my 00 Montero Endeavor and my son had played with the electric seat switch moving it forward. I tried to move it back but it only moves forward now. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Does it sound like the switch has gone bad or is there any way to test the motor itself? I am 6'4" so I need all the leg room I can get, and now my knees are against the dash and makes for pretty uncomfortable driving....
