2002 F150 2WD 4.2L v6 - Starts then stalls.

Have replaced Fuel Filter, cleaned MAF. Checked Fuel Pressure (40psi). Vacuum while it starts comes up to 17" then drops as soon as it stalls. the TPS has been changed.

The truck starts and immediately stalls. Won't accelerate at all.

If I remove the IAC (Idle Air Control) motor and hold my hand over that opening, I can get it to idle by metering the air myself. The problem is still there because if I try to increase the trhottle at all (even very slowly) it immediately dies. Fuel pressure stays steady.

My plans tonight are to check the resistance on the coolant temp and swap in a spare MAF from my other truck and see what happens. I'm not holding my breath...

I can't find any vacuum leaks and I would think if it was a vacuum leak, it would still accelerate form an idle.

Any other possible suggestions?

Troy.

OK guys I figured it out. I pulled the MAF off of my other F150 and it fired right up. Element looked good. I guess the electronics crapped out.

Went to Advance and picked up a replacement. Put it on and the truck is back in business.

Thanks for looking,

Troy.
