'98 Jimmy SLS 4WD CODES and Catalytic

Jimmy is sluggish and without pep at high speeds, especially up hill.

Throwing two codes: P0404 (EGR) and P0106 (Air flow)

Catalytic converter is noisy. It rattles on inside.

I want to repair converter. Any suggestions on what to get, and who to get it from? Does anyone think the bad cat could be causing these codes?

Any suggestions of what else to look for? Air filter looks clean, tapped it out anyway.

Any advice appreciated.

Code 404 is EGR valve range performance.
Test and check egr valve.
code 106 is mass air flow sensor problem.

Clear codes and see what returns.

On the cat you will need a good grade cat not el cheapo.

Check parts places for a direct fit OEM type cat.
But repair engine performance and sensors before replacing it.
Also a plugged cat could be causing them codes.
