Anyone In A Car Club??

If so, please tell me about your experiences and how you like being apart of a club. I'm not in a club right now, but I think that would be the next best move for me.

Anyway, feel free to share any stories you have or any info about the crew you're in.

Thanks

I belong to the Subaru 360 Driver's Club. If you own an unusual car, you should join a club - it's far easier to find parts when you know alot of people who own the same type of car.
The other members are friendly and very helpful, but as always there are a couple of jerks in the group as well.

How many members do you have? How long have you guys been around? Do you guys have any sponsors? Are you guys going for race or show?

I'm just thinking that for me to really be able to take that next big step, I should join a crew.

Members number about 360, cars about 500.
The club was formed back in 1980, because Subaru dealers refused to service the 360, and only a couple dealers where even willing to order parts so owners could repair their own cars - being that the point of the club was to keep the cars on the road it isn't very active. They don't put on their own shows, but usually encourage members to show their cars. The Subaru 360 is by nature a very slow car, so racing doesn't enter into it at all (though I have heard that in Japan, their is a strong 360 class in vintage racing)

i am a member of NECO a huge car club for new cougar owners. there are over 5,000 registered members but only a few hundred regularly active ones. it is nation wide and some international members as well. then within this big group we have our local chapters. it is fun to be able to hang out with people with the same interest.

I belong to three clubs.

NZUPI - New Zealand Ultimate Performance Imports
NIZAN - Drift and Drag club
Skylines Dowunder

Skylines Downunder - A lot depends on the club. Skylines Downunder had a major problem for a long with intersquabbling amungst the Execs. I was also a co-founder of the club. After 4 years of crap I walked away from the running of the club and am JUST a member, barely. I do maintain ties with many friends I have made within the club and has a good chance to recover.

NIZAN- New to this club by a few months. They are a great bunch of guys who pretty much stick to themselves. They do awesome events and are very friendly

NZUPI - 90% of the members were former SDU members who as mentioned left. Another close nit club and is a young club still grown. Circut is most of their events with other things such as Quad biking etc.
