GT2 Corvette ZR1 C6R
Since there are no plans for a kit of one of these anytime soon, I decided to try and make one by combining the Revell street ZR1 with the older C6R. Extensive cutting and filling were required here. I had to cut out the C6R headlamps and rockers and graft them to the ZR1 body. The front/rear fenders were widened and stock hood required quite a bit of body work.
Here's the progress so far.... still a lot of final sanding/smoothing left. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: GT2 Corvette ZR1 C6R
I really like this type of works, where at the end you have an unique model.
It's a great reference and motivation in order to get ideas for making the same applying to the vast quantity of projects I have in my mind. For sure I will follow with great interest your progress. |

Re: GT2 Corvette ZR1 C6R
Got the paint, decals, and clear down this past weekend. I used Scale Finishes Velocity yellow and Tamiya black sprayed through my airbrush. The decals are by Patto's Place. The body then received 2 light coats of 2 part automotive urethane clear...

Wow Jay, fantastic start...!
Interesting and inspiring approach for the bodywork widening, thank you. May I ask you to post a closer shot of the door decals...? I guess Patto's are alps, but looking at the pictures seems very nice. Robi |

Re: GT2 Corvette ZR1 C6R
Deircrfan - I like your corvette - I started on a C6 2006 LeMans GT1 during the LeMans weekend but ran out of Tamiya white primer and I'm waiting for the LHS to get it in. You have done a great job on the GT2 ALMS car - the paint and decals look great. What are your plans for the chassis? I saw the kit wheels are all wrong with my c6 and I have no intention of paying $124 usd for a SMS wheel set. It would be great if someone put out a set of correct resin wheels - keep this up - John
