99 Tahoe "Convenience Panel'

Does every Tahoe have a "Convenience Panel' to plug a brake controller adapter into, or do just the trucks with factory equiped Tow Packages get it? I don't think my Tahoe has the tow package and need to know if the brake controller will have to be wired straight into the brake lights circuit. I found the 5 wire harness back at the bumper all taped up but it has no blue wire for the brakes or 12 volt AUX wire for the camper charge circuit. I do have a reciever hitch but I think it was added by the last owner. No plug for lights at all untill now. I'm adding a 7 wire.
Any comments are appreciated here. I asked a few weeks ago but got no replies.

Re: 99 Tahoe "Convenience Panel'

My '02 Tahoe came with a tow package and all was wired except for the 40 amp fuse to go into the fuse box under the hood.

I have a Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller which powered up from the black box on the lower left firewall.

I have no idea which years didn't have it though.

Your new brake controller will come with instructions as to where the wiring has to go.

It may be wise to verify the capacity of the hitch too.
