Smelly AC

So my wife's 1997 Rav 4 has smelly AC, so I went to buy a cabin air filter, and apparently the car is not equipped with it (according to Auto zone's computer).

Any ideas on how to remedy the situation?

something like this can? maybe u got stuff in the vents and you'll need this can to blast into the vents and distribute it throughout the ducts???

Check out your Rav4 Manual, I have an 06 Rav4 and there is a filter that is related to your AC, good Luck.
