Re: Aoshima Surprises!

Cool, Aoshima having license agreement with MB. Maybe we will see more MB's in the near future.

Re: Aoshima Surprises!

the mercedes sl63 amg was quite expensive for an aoshima kit, i wonder if its comes with an engine

i hope they'll do the AMG SL65 black series too

Re: Aoshima Surprises!

Wow! THE SL63 is a kit I'm excited about! I doubt it comes with an engine (most Aoshima models don't, right?), but if it does, that engine can also be used for the new SLS-AMG Mercedes. Maybe that car is the next logical step if Aoshima starts producing more Mercedes models.

Re: Aoshima Surprises!

Nice surprise, let's hope it's followed by a Black Series.

Amazing it's taken so long to get a modern SL.

I'm all for more models of modern Euro cars

Yes, it does.
I guess their strategy of releasing both curbside and detailed kits at around the same time gave them enough clue that people do pay more for engine parts.

There will be two versions for October. One is stock, and the other comes with Brabus Mono Block E wheels.

My concern is that Aoshima might use the same low profile tires that don't quite fill the wheel arch, like their R35 GT-R kit.

Really they are about the same. Only real big difference is the points accumulation which lowers the price. To me it's like free shipping depending on the points accumulated.
I know that their prices are much better than HLJ though. I also think that shipping is just a bit better at HWJapan.

Re: Aoshima Surprises!

Prime example of shopping between the two:

MB 63 AMG Option is $39.35 at HLJ

HWJ has the exact same car for $32.00
Granted that HWJ is an outlet for Aoshima. So you do have to shop between the two for best pricing. However, I find that HWJ is usually always cheaper. The service is same as if not better than at HLJ.
