2002 Suburban wouldn't start

Our SUV wouldn't start again Tues, this happened about 6 months ago for 2 days in a row. If you let it sit and tried again a few hrs later it was fine. After the two days it didn't happen again for about 6 months, then it happened another time and that was it for 3 months again. Tues it wouldn't start even after letting it sit awhile and trying it again. Sounded like maybe it wasn't getting fuel to kick it. Hubby checked the vacumn he says. We had it towed to a local shop but when they went to check it out it started just fine again. We are in the middle of a trip back to TX. Not sure if heat has anything to do with it since it was hot(80's) when it happened the first time and then again Tues. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Sandy

What engine and what size sub?
If a gas engine.
Needs to be checked for lose of fuel or spark when no start.
For lose of fuel test try a little carb cleaner in intake.

Re: 2002 Suburban wouldn't start

Hi it's sounds just like what happened to our Suburban. It was our fuel pump. An easy way to see if that's the problem is when it won't start, have someone tap firmly on the gas tank(rubber mallot) while trying to start it, if it starts it's the fuel pump. We even took it to the chevrolet dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong with it but we replaced the fuel pump anyway and no problems for the last 3 years. Hope this helps good luck.
