99 cavalier electrical problems

ok here is my problem... my car is a 99 cavalier 2.2l , automatic. i was driving in the city the other day and i stopped at a stop sign and when i went to take off, the car stalled and would not start, i started checking fuses and found a burnt fuse (ignition) fuse burnt in the panel inside the drivers side panel. i changed the fuse the car started fine , put it in gear let go of the breaks and pop another fuse, i did this three times and on the last time i put the car in neutral before starting it and did not touch the breaks when starting it, when it started i put it in gear and drove off, three blocks later it died again, i let it sit for about twenty minutes..change the fuse and drive to mu buddies place... i let it sit there for about three hours and drove home.. the drive was about one hour.. this happened to me two times now since ive owned the car (owned it for about three months) . i think it has something to do with the brakes and tranny maybe. someone said a short but if i change the fuse and let it sit in park it will run forever. its when you release the brakes and go to take off...maybe abs problem or traction control....ets light and check engine light have been on now for about one month.. please help......

Re: 99 cavalier electrical problems

Get the code from the engine light. chances are its going to tell you the problem before you even have to log on and tell us here.

If you dont have a scanner, run up to your nearest autozone and give em' your puppy face =P
