Power Issues

Got a few questions. I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GT. I have 2 diamond audio 12's in the trunk hooked up to a 1800 watt mono block kenwood amplifier. My problem is the alternator isn't re-charging as fast as the kenwood sucks it. I was told to do the big 3....but im afraid the alternator will have to work harder and overheat and eventually die on me. I would like to throw another 1800 watt amp in there and two new 12" alpine type R subs. I don't know why....but so far I haven't been able to find a company that makes higher output alternators for my car. Any ideas?

Re: Power Issues

the big 3 will help alot more than you think. in the end though, it will be cheaper to do everything at once.

Re: Power Issues

well if the big 3 is going to help then I will give it a shot. Do you know of a company that sells the wiring?

Re: Power Issues

Really any high-grade amp wiring kit type wiring will work... knukonceptz used to have some good rates for cables, but their site seems to have disapeared. You can usually score some wiring off ebay per foot from some retailers.

Re: Power Issues

you can actually go to a welding shop and buy 1/0 welding wire. It usually cheaper and alot of people use it.
