Tune Up!

What are the normal parts that are replaced for a tune up?

Re: Tune Up!

pluge, wires, cap, rotor and that is about it for the basics. add an oil change, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter to give it a full P.M.
check your serpintine belt for cracks as well.

What mileage and what engine?
A lot of tune up variation.
Major or minor.

Basic on a tune up is AC delco spark plugs and fuel and air filters.
But a lot of other stuff depending on mileage and engine and if you are having any other problems.
Best to have a good maintenance schedule to go by.

Re: Tune Up!

well the truck is my fiances and I am afraid to say that i believe it to never have had a tune up before. its a 2002 with 80k I change the oil every 3-4k. No problems but I could tell the engine is in need of a tune up

Re: Tune Up!

There are no wires this is direct coil to plug ignition. Definite fuel filter and clean the throttle body.
