Unstable RPM Idle

I took out the AIR CONTROL VALVE and cleans it w/BRAKE CLEANER. I started the car up and after driving for 15 minutes the high Idle has gone down a little and I wonder why it didn't stop the unstable RPM idle completely????? HELP. thanks

Re: Unstable RPM Idle

whats the issue? by unstable do you mean it revs up high then down low, in a repetitive pattern? If thats what its doing, then its the IAC valve (idle air control valve)

you said you cleaned it but it might just be flat out bad, check it again. If it visually looks ok, but you still have an issue buy a new one.
