superbowl on local only?

Ive always watched superbowl on ABC or CBS or one of those local brpoadcast stations, but this year I find myself living out in the middle of nowhere with DirecTV, but it is a california account so obviously the AZ locals dont come through, but since its from CA and im in AZ, the CA locals dont make it through, so I have no NBC/CBS/ABC/FOX/etc... so I was wondering is the superbowl broadcats on ESPN? I would figure so but I dont think ive ever had it til now.

also i tried getting a phillips AC powered 45db boosted anteanna but could bearley get a picture.

Re: superbowl on local only?

I don't think ESPN has ever hosted a super bowl. Probably cuz the majority of Americans do have local channels. I'd head to a bar in town with some friends or go to a friends house. Of course I wish I had (what probably costs a couple grand) a ticket to the game. My grandmama lives 5 minutes from the stadium, literally.

Re: superbowl on local only?

There is now way of setting up an antenna and picking up a local station or two?

Effit, you said the stadium is just 5 minutes away? Just go tailgate and grill or something. I know its gotta be 70 degrees down there and they've gotta have screens outside

Re: superbowl on local only?

If I didn't have to work that Sunday I definitely would. My uncle plans to though, lucky SOB.

Maybe the antenna needs to be in a better position? Possibly you just need a bigger antenna? When my dad had DirecTV he had to get a fairly big antenna set up on the roof of his house for local channels.

Re: superbowl on local only?

well, my uncle has directv at his house and he subscribed to the local channels. he has about 5 recievers one of which is for his "motorhome" but happens to be in my living room in AZ, so something about it being out of area of the service the local channels are scrambled and he nis of course no subscribed to the AZ local channels. the anteanna I have is pone that amplifies VHF (2-13) 45db, most powerful one at walmart anyways, step down was 32 but it was actually 32 for UHF and only 20 for VHF, this ones 45 for VHF. I am going to put it in the window sill at the other end of the house, and run a long coax and see if I get anything back there. a 50 foot run isnt enough to need an inline signal booster as well is it?
