VX S Single to LSD

I recently got given a good low k lsd for my vx s commodore i have a manual and my diff ratio is 3.07:1 and the lsd i was given is unknown (auto/manual) but is a 3.08:1 will this give me to much grief with speedo being out as ratios are pretty close and also is this a good lsd to be replacing my single spinner with??

Cheers in advance.

Re: VX S Single to LSD

Fit the LSD centre onto your existing gears and fit it into your existing diff housing. No problems with speedo calibration either

Re: VX S Single to LSD

Well i successfully transplanted the lsd today took me all of 1 1/2 hours and a six pack and a few ciggys but its done and chirps both wheel nicely

i have to say i got away with it very cheaply doing it myself it cost me $22 for a set of allen keys (which were long shank easier than using spanner for leverage) $14.95 for some locktite and $17.95 for a six pack $0.00 for low k vx lsd (freebie, zip, nada, nothing good people in this world i must say)so all up cost me under $55 to change it to lsd and a little time.

It would have been quicker if i had have undone the bolts that hold the rear rubber mount up first as it was quite hard to get the front two bolts that hold the diff up. If you undo them the whole thing drops down then undo the sway bar off the top of the frame and pull it back and you can get to those bolts with ease with a socket. Another tip is to take the exhaust out simple as two bolts and a few clips that hold the rubber on. and the famous trolley jack is marvellous for lowering the diff down and raising it.

Is there a how to on this forum i could have read first or not. It was still a good experience regardless just wondering??
