Question about rad fans for 1996 3.1
My car overheats once in a while while driving in the city, and I took a look under the hood yesterday and noticed only one fan turns on to cool the rad down.
Are both fans supposed to come on at the same time? Or does the 2nd one come on at a higher temp? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Matt |

Re: Question about rad fans for 1996 3.1
I had a lumina (95 and had the same thing one fan would be on but not the other) that is partly be design ( i believe) however i did have to replace the fuse for the second fan and i did see it run more often, but not all the time the other was on. I can't be sure for your paticular year and engine tho...

The 2nd fan should turn on under either of 2 conditions: Temp over 205 (or 215, I think), or if you have your A/C on.
