Thumbs up SLR Steering system

My centerlink was going fast before our clubs trip to Moab this month, so I counted all my pennies, returned all my beer bottles, and hit my bank account for the SLR steering system.

I will be doing a review and install photo/instructions on my site in the near future along with my Moab pics.

I'll just say for now that the system is solid as a rock, and build quality is excellent. My steering is much tighter and precise (even compared to non-lifted trucks in our club with good centerlinks). It cost a lot, but I needed something NOW, and I don't like to fool around with something as important as vehicle steering. In the end I'm very happy with it.

So big thumbs up if you've got the pennies. :sun:

This is probably the best description from Nissan4wheelers.com
-------------------
Check for worn centerlink. This can be found by grasping the tire and wobbling it side to side (as if trying to turn the steering). By observing the centerlink (the tie rods from the wheels are connected directly to the centerlink) you can see if there is any up and down motion in it. It should NOT pivot up or down. If it does, its either shot already or on its way out. A dead centerlink will effectively render 4wd nearly useless, as when the front tires grab to pull, they toe-in badly. When driving along, severe toe-in like this works against forward motion (imagine skiing.. you toe-in to slow down and stop.. this is the same way.)

Thumbs up

Groovy Ian...I've had mine on for a few months now and everything is still terrific on the X. It actually took me a while to get accustomed to just how precise the steering is with the SLR system, but now I'm used to it. I'm tickled to death with my steering upgrade. It's great to watch off-roading video of yourself, and not get the impression that your front wheels are flopping in and out. Enjoy the new toy!

Agreed

I've had the SLR system in for about two and half months now, and I'm very happy with it. I do think it's overpriced, but it's a quality product, and the only option...
