looking for my first bmw
Hey all first post,
Looking at buying my first BMW .. Loved them since I was a child and have decided that at 24, it might be time to finally get behind the wheel .. Anyway, Looking at a 1990 bmw m3 .. Theres one posted locally and I love the e 30's .. Now, I live in Canada and the car has been imported from Germany. It has 80000 km's on the clock and from at least the pics looks immaculate .. My questions are what to look for in one other than the obvious rust and if it smokes .. also how reliable are they really, Am I going to be constantly stuck waiting for parts or can they be found relitively easily Does it need supreme gas or will it run regular ? what kinda milage am I looking to get ? stuff like that. just basic stuff. A bonus is that I can do most my own work (I"ve done motor swaps etc" but I am wondering the price of parts and a good place to get them thanks all |

Re: looking for my first bmw
Look for gasket leaks, how the coolent looks and transmission fluid looks, see if the oil is dirty, if all those are filthy and sludgy(oil or coolent) then, it might not be a good idea to buy it, never know how long that crap has been floating aorund the motor slowly destroying it, taking years off of its life. just my 2 cent
