Re: A Lumina Story

I've typically been around imports- accords, camry's, etc., but wanted to see what the other side is all about - but why on earth has GM allowed such inadequate parts/engineering for these luminas?

I hear that EVERY1 has the same intake manifold gasket failure and fuel gauge issues????? is this true?>

Manifold yes.

Fuel gauge never heard of it.

I have a '97 with 130,000, never had a major repair. A belt, water pump, TPS, battery, spark plugs, brakes. That's about it.

You seem to have latched onto one that was sadly neglected, from all the problems you've had....

Re: A Lumina Story

i have a '93 that i have been running for 4 years, 180k, i think that my problems have been minimal compared to cars i have paid alot of money for (Lumina was $100.00 florida car) normal wear and tear repairs, brakes, struts, blower motor, alternator (sat garaged for a year) turning signal switch...the only real wierd fix was the harmonic balancer, litterally fell off in two pieces when my fix it guy started pulling it apart. no intake, yet. sorry you got a bad deal. i just wish mine was not medium blue...
