Steering Wheel Creak/Moves

96 1500 4x4. I've seen the TSBs for adding "toe plate" to the base of the steering column. Also, the one on replacing intermediate shaft.
I can sit in the drivers seat and move the wheel/column up and down a small amount. Anyone know if there is any type of bushing in the column?
And if the toe plate doesn't fix it, anyone know an alternate to the $260 after market steering shaft?
