They're only comparable in that they're both IFS-equipped and about the same size, engine and vehicle-wise. Check for rust on the rear frame and under the body near the rear seats. If there's frame rust I'd probably find another one, frame repairs are spendy and time-consuming. Also, try and find out of the timing belt has been done, they should be changed every 60K miles. It is an interference engine, so if that belt breaks, you can usually kiss the engine good-bye.

I agree with 88. I will also add they are notorious for manifold studs breaking and the rear control arm bushings are known to go bad. This wouldn't make my decision to buy or not to buy, but something to look into, you might be able to get it a couple of bucks cheaper. I

f the tranny's been rebuilt check and see if they replaced the tranny cooler......the tranny shop should've, but the factory tranny cooler is pretty crapy.

Re: what should I watch for when buying 1995 pathfinder

Yeah, if it has an automatic it'll need an external cooler added, and DO NOT use the stock cooler in the radiator, it's notorious for clogging up and killing the transmission. The rear control arm bushings are more of a R50(96-99) problem, but it could still happen.

Check the compression rod bushings in front to make sure the frame isn't wallered out and rusted inside the bushings.
